Common questions
What happens to my diary if I started as a guest?
A guest account is a full account without an email attached. Your bites are saved to our servers, but only that device can sign back in.
To keep your diary safe, open Profile and link your account to Apple or Google. Your user stays the same, so nothing is lost. If you sign out of a guest account without linking, the diary can’t be recovered. The app warns you before that happens.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email contact@alkan.dev with the subject “Delete my BiteClub account”, sent from the email address of the Apple or Google account you use in BiteClub. We delete your bites, photos, voice notes, hitlist, and profile within 30 days and confirm by email.
If you have BiteClub Pro, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings too. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
Who can see my bites?
Only you, unless you pick a squad when you post. Bites shared to a squad are visible to that squad’s members. There are no public profiles or public feeds in BiteClub. Read more in the Privacy Policy.
How do I join or create a squad?
Go to Diary, then Friends. Tap create to start a squad, or enter the six-character invite code a friend sent you. Some squads ask the owner to approve new members first.
How do I cancel or manage BiteClub Pro?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google.
iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, BiteClub.
Android: Google Play, tap your profile, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, BiteClub.
If you reinstall or change phones, open the paywall and tap Restore purchases.
Why don’t I see Keşfet suggestions?
Suggestions need a few logged bites to understand your taste. Until then, BiteClub says so instead of guessing. Keşfet also launches city by city, starting with Istanbul, so other cities may show no suggestions yet.
The AI tagged my dish wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Open the bite and edit it. AI tags are a starting point, and your edits always win. Tagging can take around ten seconds after you post.
Is BiteClub a calorie counter?
No, on purpose. Nutrition is an optional detail on a single bite. We never add it up into daily totals, targets, or streaks. BiteClub is a food diary, not a diet app.
I turned off a permission. How do I turn it back on?
Open your phone’s Settings, find BiteClub, and allow Camera, Photos, Location, Microphone, or Notifications. Every feature works without them, just with a little less magic.
